Overview:- This presentation will describe the current understanding of the motion of the continents and ocean floor. It will provide some history of the develo
pment of this model. Then, explanations of how the evidence fits the theory of plate tectonics will follow. Some points covered will be the patterns of mountain chains, volcanoes, earthquakes, ocean ridges, island arcs, animal and plant distribution, Earth magnetism.
