By coach or 4WD. The theme is Exploring Cooper Country. We will visit Windorah, Birdsville and Innamincka, and other outback sites such as the "Dig Tree". Much of the Cooper Creek Catchment will be traversed and we are also planning a forum with guest speakers on the Cooper Country. This is a rare opportunity to see the west of our great State in the Spring following a bumper wet season.

Education

2010 National Geographic Channel Australian Geography Competition
All the results have been sent back to schools.

National Geography Curriculum
ACARA has started putting up information on the forthcoming geography curriculum on its website. Register there to be kept informed of opportunities to contribute. ACARA's first national consultation forum on geography was in Sydney on 27 April. The first document for public comment is due to be released in June.

International Competitions
Congratulations to the students who have been chosen to represent Australia at the International Geography Olympiad in Taipei, 29 July to 4 August 2010.

General

Queensland by Degrees
Approximately 75% of the sites are now up on the web in one form or another. Even if a site has been collected and written up on the web, more material can still be gathered and included. For example, it would be great to include pictures of some areas in the wet and the dry. Visit Queensland by Degrees to see how you can contribute.
