Alpine vegetation is located in mountainous regions, above the tree line. Heaths are low-growing woody vegetation (small shrubs). Rainforests have tall trees with closed canopies. Tundra is found in very cold climates, mostly near and north of the Arctic Circle. The vegetation is composed of dwarf shrubs, sedges and grasses, mosses, and lichens.
