International Competitions

Australia's teams to the National Geographic World Championship, the International Geography Olympiad and the Asia-Pacific Regional Geography Olympiad are chosen from students who excel in our Competition – the first via the Final for under 16s; the latter two from students 16 and over via Geography's Big Week Out. So how's that for major prizes – all expenses paid overseas trips to have the time of your life with a group of like-minded young people from all over the world. The last National Geographic World Championship was held in San Francisco, 23-28 July 2011. The last Asia-Pacific Regional Geography Olympiad was held in Merida, Mexico, 4-9 July 2011. The last International Geography Olympiad was held in Taipei, 29 July - 4 August 2010. The next one will be held in Cologne, Germany, August 2012.
