2012 Australian Geography Competition The dates to run the Competition in schools are: Monday 26 March - Wednesday 4 April 2012. The fee per student will be $3.00. Geography's Big Week Out The 2011 Geography's Big Week Out was held from 2 to 7 October, at Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. A great time (and a lot of learning) was had by all. National Geographic World Championship Australia came fourth at the National Geographic World Championship that was held in San Francisco, 23-38 July 2011. Follow the link for stories and photos. Geography Olympiads The Australian team had the highest combined score at the Asia Pacific Regional Geography Olympiad that took place 4-9 July 2011, in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. Check out the great time the Aussie students had in Mexico. The next International Geography Olympiad will be held in Cologne, Germany, 21-26 August 2012. Australia's Olympiad teams are supported by the Australian Government through the Quality Outcomes Program, administered by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
