Welcome to the National Geographic Channel Australian Geography Competition website. The Competition is designed to encourage student interest in geography and reward student excellence. General information – not surprisingly – gives you an overview of the Competition. Schools information has all the nitty-gritty details schools need on the Competition. Results gives information on the 2010 winners, and on high-scoring students and schools. Depending on their age, outstanding students win places in the Final for under 16s or Geography's Big Week Out; and the best students from those go on to represent Australia in international geography competitions. The Competition is a joint initiative of the Royal Geographical Society of Queensland and the Australian Geography Teachers' Association, and is proudly sponsored by National Geographic Channel.
