Climate: The closest representative weather station is at the the Toorak Research Station, which is 21 km to the west of the degree confluence, and has an elevation of 144 m.

The highest temperature recorded was 46.5°C in December 2006, and the lowest was -1.0°C in July 1983. The highest rainfall in a year was 1 048.7 mm in 1974, and the lowest was 194.9 mm in 1967. Extremes of Nature: Since 1906 there only one tropical cyclones has passed within 50 km of the degree confluence (Winifred in 1986), although a further 12 have passed within 200 km, despite the area's relatively inland location. The area experience can experience extreme heat for much of the year, with an average of 131 days annually that have maximum temperatures equal to or over 35°C.
