Climate: The closest representative weather station is at Ingham, which is approximately 128 km to the north-east of the degree confluence, and has an elevation of 12 m. It has been recording data since 1968.

The highest temperature recorded was 43.4°C in January 1994, and the lowest was 2.2°C in July 1968. The greatest rainfall recorded in a year was 3 423.0 mm in 1981, and the least was 1105.0 mm in 1992. Extremes of Nature: Given the confluence's tropical location, its surrounding area has been subject to numerous cyclones since 1906; although no tropical cyclones have passed within 50 km of the degree confluence during this time, some 40 have passed within 200 km. The area can also experience some extreme heat throughout some of the year, with Ingham having an average of 16 days annually that have maximum temperatures equal to or over 35°C.
