Welcome to the National Geographic Channel Australian Geography Competition Home Page. The Competition is designed to encourage student interest in geography and reward student excellence. The Competition also serves as a pathway for selection in Australia's teams to both the National Geographic World Championship and the International Geography Olympiad. General information – not surprisingly – gives you an overview of the Competition. The information for schools has all the nitty-gritty details schools need on the Competition. Results gives information on the 2007 winners, and on high-scoring students and schools. Highlights tells the story of the 2007 winners' weekend in Sydney and the Final for under 16s. The Competition is a joint initiative of the Royal Geographical Society of Queensland and the Australian Geography Teachers' Association, and is proudly sponsored by National Geographic Channel.
